Is paying via GoCardless mandatory?
No. GoCardless is an optional payment method. You decide whether you want to use it. You can also continue to pay your rent the way you do today.
Does GoCardless cost me anything as a tenant?
No. For you as a tenant, using GoCardless is free. There are no additional costs associated with this payment method for you. GoCardless’s pricing and fee information is intended for the business collecting payments, not the payer.

What exactly is GoCardless?
GoCardless is a payment service that allows payments to be processed directly from a bank account after you have given your consent. GoCardless describes its platform as a way for payers to make payments and provides them with their own support portal.
How do I sign up?
You will receive a secure link from us. Use that link to confirm your payment mandate online. Once that mandate is active, future rent payments can be processed automatically.
Do I still need to do anything every month after that?
No. After your one-time confirmation, you generally don’t need to enter a payment again every month. That’s the main advantage of this payment method.
Can I still pay my rent manually?
Yes. GoCardless is an additional option, not a requirement.
Is this secure?
GoCardless uses a formal authorization and mandate process for bank account payments. There is also an official support portal for payers and a page to identify a payment when “GoCardless” appears on a bank statement.
Can I stop using it later?
Yes. If you no longer wish to use GoCardless later, please contact us. We will then work with you to determine how to stop your automatic payment and how to continue paying your rent thereafter.
